"Country Mouse"

This particular painting was one that I completed for my course "Illustrative Watercolours" at the Art School of Peterboroug. In the course, I confer with the students to decide what we should paint but I also offer each student the opportunity to personalize it. This was the case with this painting in that we chose a common background and each chose to put a different animal in it. Many students chose birds, but I chose this cute little mouse.
 
I call the painting "Country Mouse" because it really looks like the little critter is holding a hat out in front of him while politely asking, "Are you going to finish that?"
